Are you ready? Okay.
On Wednesday night, a certain legendary designer came to bingo.
In case you don’t recognize him- that is Bob Mackie! Mr. Mackie is famous for many things including his work with Cher. In fact he designed her incredibly famous Academy Awards outfit!
He also designed the outfit Carol Burnett wore in her classic parody of “Gone With The Wind”!
Okay, got it? Bob and I spent a lot of time discussing Cher and her amazing tweets about Donald Trump.
Then on Sunday night, an incredibly prolific and talented songwriter came to Legendary Bingo!
That is Diane Warren who won an Emmy (for her song “It Could Happen To You” sung by Lady GaGa) on Saturday night and then celebrated her birthday at bingo on Sunday night!
The day before RuPaul had tweeted “This is my list of favorite Diane Warren songs”. Tweeted. Just like Cher. And Diane wrote the Cher classic song “Love & Understanding.”
On a side note, RuPaul also tweeted this:
That’s Ru with Patrika Darbo who has hosted Legendary Bingo at least 20 times over the years!
So in review- Bob Mackie comes to bingo, we talk about Cher’s tweets, RuPaul tweets about Diane Warren, Diane Warren (who also wrote the Cher classic “If I Could Turn Back Time”) comes to bingo and by the way, tweeted the entire time, including this:
Diane loves to give the finger.
Anyway, that was fun. You see? It’s all about legendary Bingo!
PS- Diane was accompanied by a couple of cool people:
The red haired lady is Risa Shapiro, a huge talent manager. Then there is our friend actress Joey King and behind her her mother and sister and the blonde woman in the orange jacket is Catherine Hardwicke who directed “Twilight” and several other amazing movies. And then there is Diane with the ever lovely Roxy Wood!
Another fun week at Legendary Bingo!
On a sadder note, I read about the untimely death of Alexis Arquette who was a frequent ballcaller and also an advocate for the transgendered community. For her obituary, the LA Times used this photo:
Alexis Arquette Belle Aire
On the right of Alexis is The Fabulous Belle Aire who many of you will remember as my very first bingo hostess. The photo was taken at a charity bingo event at The Comedy Store which was hosted by Courtney Cox.
We will miss you Alexis and your raunchy sense of humor. Fly with the angels!
